Baron Visit: Part 2

We hit Trier and visited the Roman arena there.  It was fascinating to imagine all of the shows and battles that occurred there.  The little guys thought it was pretty cool.  Unfortunately, the ticket shop only had the information sheet in French.  Thankfully, Peter's still got some good french language skills.
Austin and Tyler sitting on one entrance to the amphitheater.
 Zach was there too.
Austin and Tyler acting like statues for Grandma in front of the Imperial Roman bath.

Later that day we drove through Luxembourg City, and then on to Metz, France.  3 countries in one day isn't too bad!  We ate dinner in Metz at a restaurant that served all kinds of potatoes.  It was interesting and pretty good!  As we were walking back to the car we came across the Metz Cathedral.  It was breathtaking!

We have Manchester United love at our house.  We have pictures from all the kids at this age with grandpa wearing their jerseys.

The next day we traveled down to Bavaria to see the Neuschwanstein castle.  It was about a 6 hour drive and so beautiful!  At this point in all of our travels- Zachy was done with the car and cried for 5 out of the 6 hour drive.  Awesome.  The joys of having little kids and traveling.
The views were worth all the crying!

We stayed in Garmisch Germany at an army hotel there.  It was fantastic!  We got a suite and had the most beautiful views!

Here are the little guys getting a special Poe story from Grandpa.

Our sunrise view from our room.  The camera just didn't do it justice!

Looking out our other window in the room.  All the leaves were beginning to change.
The following day we headed to the Zugspitze- the tallest mountain peak in Germany.  We took a mountain train (Andrew will be ashamed that I can't remember what it's called)  It went up through a tunnel in the mountain and spit you out at the top.  It took about 45 minutes and had some pretty incredible views!
At the top there was a small chapel, a sledding hill, and a gondola up to even higher ground.
 My mountain climbers!

We were a little ill prepared for the weather, but we all survived and had a great time!

Last but not least- the mountain sheep.  We inspired a few older couples (who I suspect had a little too much to drink) to also get pictures on these.
